The Wines of Sicily Itinerary and Booking

Day 1

Following your arrival at Catania airport, continue to meet Salvo Foti, one of the area’s best wine makers, to discover how Nerello Mascalese is producing wines capable of obtaining cult status.

Day 2
Etna & Passopisciaro

Visit Passopisciaro winery situated in dramatic volcanic landscape with Andrea Franchetti.

Enjoy a jeep safari up Etna to see how lava from various eruptions has formed the unique landscape.

Day 3
Tasca d’Almerita & Cefalù 

Visit Tenuta Regaleali, the seat of the Counts Tascad’Almerita historic wine estate set in beautiful countryside in central Sicily, before a delicious lunch at the estate.

Enjoy a visit to Cefalù dominated by its Norman cathedral.

Day 4
Palermo & Baglio di Pianetto 

Visit the Palatine Chapel, formerly the private chapel of the Norman kings widely considered Palermo’s finest architectural masterpiece.

This afternoon visit Baglio di Pianetto winery, for a tasting of the crus at Count Marzotto’s estate.

Day 5
Planeta & Selinunte


Visit a winery on the southern coast with Chiara Planeta whose family has been at the forefront of quality Sicilian wine making before a wonderful seaside lunch.

Visit the majestic ruins of the ancient Greek city of Selinunte, whose monuments were among the finest in the ancient world.

Day 6
Segesta & Ceuso

Enjoy a visit to the most beautiful of all Sicily’s ancient Greek temples at Segesta before lunch and wine tasting at Ceuso.  Depart afterwards from Palermo airport.




Price from £1495.00 per person sharing a double room based on a party of 10 persons


The price includes:

  • 5 nights in hotels (4-star)

  • Vineyard visits to 5 wineries with wine tasting daily

Not included:  Flights, Insurance, Meals not listed, Entrances to monuments*, Extras and personal spending such as optional excursions and gratuities, City taxes (at present there are no city taxes)

*Note on entrances:  Note that participants aged 65 and over have free entry to state owned monuments in Sicily.


Protection of Monies

In accordance with the United Kingdom’s Package Travel, Package Holidays and Package Tours Regulations 1992, Tastes of Italy Limited. protects all monies in a Trust Account. All monies are held in trust until the completion of your holiday or the end of our services to you, which will be specified on our confirmatory booking invoice.

Minimum Numbers

This tour will operate subject to a minimum of 10 participants and maximum of 16 persons.

Holders of a UK passport should ensure that the passport is valid for at least 3 months beyond your proposed stay for tourist travel. If you should need a new passport please ensure you inquire in sufficient before your departure.


Holders of a UK Citizen’s passport do not require visas for travel to Italy as a tourist.

Other passport holders should check with their local Italian Embassy or Consulate for further information.


At the time of writing no vaccinations are compulsory for travel to Italy.  For travel in Europe you will need to bring an European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) entitling you to state funded medical treatment in Italy. http://www.nhs.uk/NHSEngland/Healthcareabroad/EHIC/Pages/about-the-ehic.aspx.

Special Requests

We are happy to comply with your special requests whenever possible. When it is possible for us to guarantee a special request, we will be happy to do so but ONLY IN WRITTEN CONFIRMATION TO YOU.

Travellers with Disabilities

If you have a disability please let us know details so that we can ensure suitable arrangements are in place for you.  Please note that the suitability of this tour may vary dependent on the nature of the disability and whether you are accompanied by an able-bodied companion.  We regret that sometimes we are unable to provide the itinerary of your choice due to the lack of facilities at the accommodation featured or due to the travel arrangements.

Travel Insurance

It is a condition of booking with us that you have suitable travel insurance in place which covers both your financial investment in your trip, such as the cost of lost luggage or cancelled flights and medical emergencies, including repatriation.

What travel documents do I need?

Your flight tickets, passport, a copy of your travel insurance policy making a note of the number for medical emergency overseas.
